John Lee

John has been mad about fresh food and interesting flavours since growing up in the tropics. This has translated into a passion for cooking and seeking out interesting tastes – and although these often hark back to South East Asia, his North Yorkshire heritage also gets a fair showing. John’s professional life has been varied across general medicine, anaesthesia, pain medicine, hospital management, medical standards and public health. Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, awarded him an OBE for his services to medicine during the COVID19 pandemic when he worked as the Cayman Island Government’s Chief Medical Officer.

His favourite way to eat a carrot is raw, in a salad, or just to crunch – there is nothing quite like the sensations and noise of munching those sweet and strikingly coloured wonders.
